Sharethis configuration

Show the ShareThis button on your website

There are two ways to show the ShareThis button on your website. You can either attach the ShareThis button to nodes, or you can display it in a seperate block. When displaying in a block the normal block visibility options are available. This means that you can configure the block to only show for certain user roles, for certain pages, etc. More information about block administration can be found on drupal.org: http://drupal.org/documentation/modules/block.

  1. Go to Administer > Modules and enable the ShareThis module.
  2. Go to Administer > Configuration > ShareThis.
  3. Choose which widget type, button style and services you want to enable. Clicking a selection will show you a preview so that you get an idea of how things will be displayed on your website.
  4. Optionally enable extra services:

    • Google Plus One
    • Facebook like
  5. Choose on which content types the ShareThis button should be displayed. Check the “Only full view” checkbox if you want the ShareThis button to appear only on full nodes.

  6. Choose the location:
    • Node content: Show the ShareThis button beneath the content.
    • Block: Show the ShareThis button in a seperate block.
    • Links area: Show the ShareThis button with other typical node links, such as ‘Add comment’. Usually the links area is displayed under the content.
